The Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows have been a huge hit and are raved about by many bloggers. After trying it out I can see why! These cream eyeshadows come in seven different colour and are meant to last for 24 hours. They are quite often compared to MAC paint pots, but at only £4.99 compared to £14.50 for MAC paint pots, these are a great alternative.
Firstly I really quite like packaging, with a glass bottom and black lid - making them very durable. I picked up the "On and On Bronze" eyeshadow to try out as i thought it would be great with blue eyes. As you can tell from the name, On and On Bronze is a metallic bronze colour with a hint of gold shimmer. This is an everyday colour which is great on its own or matched with another eyeshadow. It is very easy to apply and to blend with both your finger or a brush and it has a very smooth consistency.
I actually tried this out for 24 hours (yes it meant sleeping in it!) and I have to say the results were impressive. Not only did it not crease but it was still wearable! As expected it had faded slightly, but realistically, who will be wearing this for 24 hours?
Have you tried the Color Tattoo range out? Which is your favourite colour?
I have fallen back in love with Primark recently, their spring/summer collection is really lovely! I rarely have the patience to search through the majority of clothes in Primark, that to be honest are just crap, but after visiting a few times recently I have come away with some great purchases.
L-R : £6.00, £6.00, £8.00
New Look (AX Paris Range)
A lot of the items I purhcased for work, including the skirt which I am unsure of at the moment. It is really comfortable and great for work, I just need to style it first and see if I like it!
There are so many other things I would love to purchase in Primark, so I think I will be heading there again soon as I am really impressed.
What do you think of Primarks spring/summer collection?
I was recently looking for a new iPhone 4 case, so I spent hours trawling through E-bay and thought I would share what I found with you. These are my 10 favourites cases that I found, all under £3 and all from British Sellers.
I have bought cheap iPhone cases from E-bay before and to be honest they work just as well as the more expensive ones and last just as long. I am not sure which I am going to purchase, but as they are so cheap I may just purchase a few!
I can't decide which to get! Which do you like the most?
The Accessorize make-up range has always caught my eye in Superdrug, but for some reason I have never purchased anything. So after seeing that a lot of their products are currently half-price, I decided to try out one of their eyeshadows.
The Accessorize Single Eyeshadow Icon in Truffle is a mid toned brown, which when applied has a lovely gold sheen. The eyeshadow is lovely and soft, like a cream eyeshadow, and the pigmentation is great. You cannot miss how cute the packaging is and it feels nice and sturdy.
I have been wearing this eyeshadow all day and it has great staying power and has yet to crease. This colour is great for adding a bit of glamour to a natural look without looking to OTT.
Superdrug currently have 50% off Accessorize nail polish and single eyeshadows, making them only £2.00 each. I have also heard great things about their nail polish, so I will be picking some of them up soon :)
Have you tried any of the accessorize make up? If so what did you think of it?
Over the past month I have been trying out a new skin care regime and thought I could finally share my thoughts on them. The Herbalife NouriFusion multivitamin skincare range combines “science and nature to create a unique blend of herbal ingredients and vitamins A, C and E”.
Vitamin A helps to improves skins moisture content promoting cell renewal and helping to prevent the signs of premature aging.
Vitamin C is a key component in collagen production. It has been shown to regulate pigmentation and boost the skin’s immune system.
Vitamin E helps to protect the skin’s moisture barrier and smooth skin
So as you can see, there are some great benefits to using this range. As a whole, I really liked it – but some products more than others.
Firstly I have been using the NouriFusion® Multivitamin Cleanser (£14.05)* in normal to dry, which includes nourishing olive oil, sweet almond and jojoba. I have never used a facial wash as I have always been under the impression that they are too drying for my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised! This light weight cleanser comes with a pump, and all you need is one pump and it leaves you skin feeling clean yet moisturized and does a great job at removing all make-up.
After cleansing my face I always like to use a toner to get rid of any excess oil or make-up. The NouriFusion® Multivitamin Toner (£14.05)* in normal to dry includes witch hazel, and leaves my face feeling nice and fresh. After using, my skin does not feel tight like it can after using some toners, possibly due to the fact that it does not contain alcohol, so it is very gentle.
Lastly, of an evening, I have been using NouriFusion® Night Cream (£23.62)* which has helped to keep my skin hydrated and is also meant to supports healthy skin renewal. At first I didn’t really get on with the night cream, but it has definitely grown on me. It’s biggest downfall for me was that it took a while to sink in, leaving my skin feeling sticky. But since this is a night cream it is not too much of a problem and once it had sunk in my skin did feel lovely and smooth.
Overall my skin is feeling a lot more radiant and I definitely feel my skin has benefited from using these products. All these products are unscented, very light and moisturising - great on sensitive skin such as my own. I have also noticed after using these products for almost a month, I have not experienced any dry patches like usual!
The Nourifusion range comes in both Normal to Dry and Normal to Oily and is best purchased through an independent distributor. There are also many other products available, such as eye gel, face masks and face scrubs - so definitely worth checking it out.
Have you heard of Nourifusion/Herbalife before? What do you look for in a good skin care range? Love Carissa XXX
NYX is one of those brands that I really wish was more readily available in the UK, having said that I don't think my bank balance would be too pleased! After months of wanting to try out this blush, I finally decided to try it out. I have heard such good things throughout the blogging community that I wanted to see what all they hype was about.
The packaging is very simple and nothing to rave about, but then again you can't expect much for the price you pay! Glow is a lovely warm pink colour that is very easy to overdo, as it is very pigmented - but this is easily averted through using a stippling brush. You can also apply this with your fingers but I find it hard to blend out as it tends to set quite fast. I would describe the formulation as very soft and creamy, easily mistaken for a lipgloss without the 'stickiness'. The finish is semi matte with a sheen, that lasts for up to 5 or 6 hours.
So all in all I am very pleased with this product and will definitely purchase in different colours. I am unsure if this colour is right for me, especially as I don't have a tan at the moment, however I will definitely be trying out some different colours :)
Have you tried NYX Cream Blush? What other cream blush do you recommend?
A post I have seen recently by quite a few bloggers is about expired make-up. Just like food, all beauty products have a shelf life, which is usually shown on the packaging somewhere. Over time bacteria can fester within the make-up, causing infections.
Quite often it is hard to remember when exactly you bought that pretty copper eyeshadow or blue eyeliner that you barely use. But that is where the Cosmetic Calculator helps you work out when the products were made, allowing you to work out roughly when these products are likely to expire.
For example, I entered the following codes into the Cosmetic Calculator and found that Maybelline Dream Touch Blush and L'oreal Studio Secrets Primer is still in date, but the Diorskin Nude expired February 2012 (luckily I finished this a while back, I am just saving it to remember my colour :)).
Remember though, it is likely you bought the make-up quite a few months after the date of manufacture, I bought a lipstick last month, which was actually manufactured in January last year! So the expiry date is actually a whole year later than suggested on the site.
Do you check your make-up regularly? I am going to go through my make-up tonight, hopefully make some room for some new make-up :p
I remember years ago I had something very similar to this, I think it was by Olay surprisingly, and I really liked the consistency. So, on the hunt for something similar, I came across this bargain on E-bay!
It comes in many different colours and I decided to try out Tango with Mango. Unfortunately, the E-bay seller only has Hello Honey in stock currently, however if you search on E-bay there are other sellers. I love the pretty coral colour achieved when mixing the 3 colours, great for spring/summer. Although this 'lip palette' as it is called, is a little sticky, it is nothing to complain about. It has relatively good staying power, lasting up to 2 hours, and is surprisingly quite moisturising. Supposedly these are originally $10, so I am not too sure I would pay $10 for them, but for £0.99 I didn't really have much to lose (apart from 99p of course!). I will definitely be trying some more colours out.
Have you tried Revlon Mix and Mingle? Isn't this one a lovely colour?
