New favourite wedges

24 Jun 2012

As soon as I saw these wedges, I fell in love with them. Not only are they super fun for the summer, but they are also really comfortable. I wore them last night with some black skinny jeans and a black and white top and I had so many compliments about them - I also had no problem standing in them all night.

So I am guessing you want to know where they are from? Well, I rarely go in this shop but after seeing Kayleigh purchase some lovely clothes from there I thought I would pop over and have a look. This shop is Matalan! It has been years since I shopped in Matalan and it appears to have changed a lot. I am really impressed with the selection of clothes and shoes they carry, and their home ware is just so charming.

Onto the wedges, these were just £20 which I think is an absolute steal, especially since I think they look so much more expensive than £20! They are really well made in a soft suede and leather and although they are quite high, they have a platform so they do not feel as high. They also come in a blue and green colour block, which I really loved also - it took me a while to decide on which I should purchase. However I have always loved the clash of orange and pink together so finally opted for them.

Have you been to Matalan recently? What do you think about the wedges?

Dorothy Bubble Bar Review

20 Jun 2012

It has been a while since I have blogged about a Lush product, simply because it has been a while since I have been to Lush! After visiting the store at the weekend, I couldn't wait to have a bath and to try out the Dorothy bubble bar as I have not tried it before.

After smelling it in the shop, it smells quite different to the other bars I usually go for. Infused with Ylang Ylang and Orange Blossom, it is much more subtle than most others.

I cut this in half so I can get 2 baths out of the bar, and it worked perfectly. After popping the bar into the bath, the water began to turn a lovely blue colour with swirls of orange here and there. It reminded me a little of the ocean as it turned a darker blue at the bottom of the bath, and lighter on top. As usual there were lots of bubbles and the water turned lovely and soft.

It has a very different scent to most other bubble bars, and I really loved how relaxing it was - I was ready to hit the sack after this bath!(most likley down to the Ylang Ylang which is great for inducing sleep).

Which is your favourite bubble bar?

A bit of Mystery Shopping

17 Jun 2012

A few weeks back I participated in some mystery shopping for the first time! If you are not sure what mystery shopping entails, basically you purchase some goods from the specified retailer and then report back to the company about your experience. In this case, I am also going to share my experience with you guys!

Herbalife works a little like Avon, in that there are many representatives all over the country and also international. When you have decided what you would like to order, you ring up Herbalife (their number can be found on the website) and they will give you contact information for someone in your area. They will then take your order and deliver them to your house once they have recieved the products. You are not able to order online, unlike Avon, however this does not really pose any problems as I found the overall transaction to be relatively smooth.

Herbalife started in the 80's selling the "original" weight-loss programme. To this day this is still the focus of the company, but they have now expanded into other areas such as skincare and Energy products. I am mostly interested in their skincare products, as I have tried out their Nourifusion range which I absolutely love.

Herbalife Radiant C Range* - Facial Scrub Cleanser (£18.05), Daily Skin Booster (£24.70), Face Quencer (£7.15)
After deciding on what I would like to order, I contacted my local distributor called Darren and we talked through my order, discussed how to pay and when it would be delivered etc. I was unable to pay over the phone (I am unsure if this is the case for everyone) but you could pay through paypal, bank transfer or cash on delivery, so I opted for cash on delivery.

My only issue up to this point was that they do not prices on their website! After doing some research online (mostly through blog reviews) I was able to find prices for some products, but if you are unsure the best bet is to speak to your distributor as the prices do range depending on which range you purchase from.

I had a minor issue with delivery being later than expected, however this was down to a small misunderstanding. His wife went into labour the day my products were due to be delivered, so understandibly he could not deliver that day. After a few days he called back to set up another date to deliver but on that day he did not show up. After calling him back, it seems he thought he was meant to come later in the week, but instead he came the next day. So all in all it wasn't too much of an issue, just took a little longer then expected.

I cannot wait to give the products a try as I have loved some previous products I have tried by Herbalife, and I will do a full review after a few weeks. They also have a new range called the Herbal-Aloe range which also sounds amazing.

Have you heard of Herbalife, or tried any of their products?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Alpha-h Liquid Gold

13 Jun 2012

Liquid Gold by Alpha-h has taken the beauty blogging world by storm recently. At £31.50 it is not cheap, but if any of the reviews are to go by it is worth every penny. I don't actually have the product yet, as I just ordered some tonight, so I cannot share my thoughts just yet - but I will do a full review once I have fully tried and tested it out.

So basically I just wanted to share an amazing offer that I found. Liquid gold appears to be sold out on many of the main websites that you are able to purchase it, however on QVC you are able to purchase full sizes of both the Liquid Gold and the Absolute Eye Complex (which also has amazing reviews) for just £32.45 including p&p! The RRP of both these products is £63, so this really is an amazing deal) So if you are interested get it HERE :)

If you would like to know more about this products A model recommends does a great review HERE.

Have you tried Liquid Gold or any products by Alpha-h?

Sleek - Rose Gold Blush

11 Jun 2012

After hearing some raving reviews about this blush (along with my love for blush!) I knew I had to purchase it. Now this blush is like gold dust, and after searching in a few Superdrugs I finally managed to pick one up. Supposedly this is a dupe for NARS orgasm, but having not tried it I cannot comment. It does however remind me slightly of one of my favourite blushes, Benefit Coralista, at a much lower price.

(Left = heavily swatched, Right = rubbed in)
Sleek Blush - Rose Gold £4.30

This is my first time trying a Sleek blush and I am very impressed! Rose gold is a pinky peach blush with a gold shimmer - there is no need to use a highlighter as it gives you the most gorgeous glow. It is very pigmented, but with a soft hand you can build it up to suit your skin colour. It has very good staying power, lasting all day without the need to top up (this is with a primer and make-up setting spray).

I just love how 'sleek' the packagain is, the blush comes in a small black compact, with a handy mirror in the top. At just £4.30 I think this blush is very good value for money and 8g of blush is likely to last a relatively long time.

What do you think of Rose Gold? What other blush's do you recommend?

I have managed to find some lovely handbags for under £20.00, of which i definitely want to buy a few. Most are from China, South Korea or Hong Kong - however for these prices I would say it is worth the wait!

The majority come in many different colours, so be sure to check them out if you like the style!
