Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold

Ever since I purchased the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze (review here), I have been obsessed. I picked up Pink Gold (Inked in Pink in the USA) last week and as the name would suggest, it is a light pink with some subtle gold undertones - it is oh so very pretty.

If you have never used the Colour Tatto’s before, they are marketed as a gel-cream eyeshadow which lasts throughout the day. They can also be used as a primer, teamed up with a cream or powder eyeshadow, which will give you a more intense look. Personally I apply this to my eyelids as an all over wash, but I am definitely going to experiment and try it as a primer.

As you can see from the swatch, it is incredibly pigmented but you can also blend it out for a more subtle look. The eyeshadow is solid, but melts on your finger tips when applied - there is no need for a brush and it only takes a few minutes.  I am a big fan of the packaging, the glass makes it feel quite luxurious and it looks very similar to the MAC paint pots.

As mentioned in my previous review, these really do last all day. I have found that the Pink Gold colour does tend to fade a little, but it is still noticeable at the end of the day. At £4.99 these are great value for money, and I have yet to find anything better at this price! My only niggle is that I wish they had more colour offerings. There are a lot of bright colours, however for everyday wear there are only a few suitable colours.

What cream eyeshadows do you recommend?

  8. I have this and the bronze version and they're great for throwing in my bag and applying on the train to work. I've got a couple of the brighter colours but haven't yet been brave enough to actually wear them!
