10 ways to use Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil

21 Feb 2013

I am sure you have all heard of the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil (even if it is a bit of mouthful!), and as the title suggests it is Multi-usage.  This can be applied to your face, body and hair all year round but what many don't know is that there are many other ways you can use this oil of which I am going to share with you.

1. Mix a little with your foundation to allow for a smoother application.

2. Put a few drops into your bath for super soft skin.  It also leaves your skin smelling lovely.

3. Use a few drops on your cuticles to leave them feeling super nourished.

4. For a hydrating hair mask put a few drops into wet hair and wrap a towel around your head for 2 minutes.

5. After waxing or shaving, apply to your skin to soothe any soreness, it will also leave your skin  feeling super soft.

6. Apply to your face after serum for an intense moisture/use after come out of the bath/shower to retain moisture

7.  Apply to areas of the body where you want to achieve a subtle glow.

8. Use as a hair serum, either to help keep you hair straighter for longer, or to help calm curly hair.

9. For really dry skin, apply some the oil followed by your normal moisturiser (or mix the 2) to give your skin an intense moisture (particularly good for elbows and knees).

10. Apply to the ends of dry hair to help battle split ends.

A little of this product goes a long way, I have used this many times already and as you can see in the picture there is plenty left.  Not only does this product smell divine but it is also not in the slightest bit oily (hence dry oil) and so you do not need to wait to get dressed once applied. A big bonus is that this product is 98% natural and so does not contain many of the chemical nasties that other products do.

It's no wonder this sells on average every six seconds in France!  I will definitely be buying the full version when I run out - which you can buy here for £17 (although this sounds like a lot, it will last you a very long time)

My favourite so far would have to be number 4.  Have you got any other ways to use this oil? If so please do share!

Stila All Is Bright Lip Glaze set

17 Feb 2013

L-R : Jolly, Splendor, Jingle, Holly, Joy, Black Cherry, Jack Frost, Sugar Plum

Hello pretty ladies. I bought these beauties just before Christmas, I had been tempted by them for a while, and when ASOS had a 20% off sale I just couldn't say no.  I am afraid I just couldn't wait to try them, (hence why some have been used) *bad beauty blogger* so apologies!

The Stila All Is Bright Lip Glaze set is from the limited edition Christmas collection which has 4 of their best selling colours and 4 limited edition colours. As you can see you get a lovely range of colours, with some being more pigmented than others.  You can apply them thinly for a sheer tint, or layer more on to achieve a more pigmented effect.  I have found they do last for a good few hours before having to reapply, but as with most lip glosses eating and drinking does tend to remove the gloss easily anyway.  They also smell amazing, which is always a bonus!

My only gripe with these lip glosses is that it would appear there is more product than there actually is!  The lip glosses 2nd and 3rd from the left that appears to have been used lots has actually only been tested once - I had to twist the product so much in order for just a little to come out.  Therefore you can see you actually only get around 2/3 of the product!  But hey, getting 8 lipglosses for £13, who can complain?

They are currently on sale on the Stila website for just £12.95 here and I would definitely recommend them.  I also think thy would make a lovely present as they include a good range of colours or you could even split them up and give them to a few different friends :)

Have you tried Stila Lip Glazes before?

Lauren Conrads New Spring Collection

12 Feb 2013

I have always had a bit of a style crush on Lauren Conrad, watching her grow from Laguna Beach right through to The Hills she always had the perfect outfit along with the perfect hairMoving on from The Hills, Lauren is still very successful and now has her own clothing line in Kohls.  I recently came across pictures of her Spring 2013 collection and fell in love!

Firstly, how gorgeous does she look? I love the bright colours and how everything has been put together, many of which I could definitely see myself wearing.  Unfortunately I think it is only available in the US, but if you do travel to the other side of the pond, check it out!

If you are a fan of Lauren I would definitely check out her blog The Beauty Department if you haven't already, of course I am already an avid reader! On there you will find many tutorials and lots of inspiration on how to get Laurens look.

What do you think of her clothing line? Which is your favourite outfit above? Mine would have to be number 3.

Happy Pancake day!

High Definition Powder - worth the hype?

10 Feb 2013

Hi girlies, so I have always been a big fan of loose powder but this is the first time I have tried out a high definition powder. The E.L.F translucent HD powder is part of the Studio range and is just £6.00 - worth a try at that price I thought!

The purpose of HD powder is to help create a soft focus effect on the skin, blurring imperfections rather than concealing them. It can be used for everyday wear or for HD camera technology, masking fine lines and imperfections creating an illusion of perfect looking skin. Sounds perfect right?

After using this for a few months I can officially say, I am a fan! The powder is so incredibly soft and finely milled that it glides onto your face leaving your skin feeling as soft as a babys bottom. As it is a translucent powder there is no coverage, however the powder contains micro particles that blur imperfections and soak up any excess oil to create a matte flawless base. It comes with a white powder puff which actually isn’t all that bad, however I prefer to use a Kabuki brush to create that flawless look.

Tip : You can also use this powder as a primer. It contains silica which helps to create that perfect canvas for your makeup. (Please read this article if you have any worries about silica in makeup)

It’s only downfall would definitely be its bulky packaging. It is therefore not very travel friendly and so I tend to just leave it at home most days. You may also want to avoid using this powder when using flash photography as it can show up as a white powder, however I have not had this problem and so I think it depends on the person.

So, overall I would definitely recommend purchasing this product if you want to achieve that flawless look. It is also great at keeping your skin matte, I never have to top up throughout the day. It has even been compared to the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder which is around £20 - £30, so this really is a great bargain.

What do you think of HD powders?

Handmade Valentines Day Cards

7 Feb 2013

Hey girls, so Valentines Day is coming up soon and every year I struggle to find my boyfriend an appropriate card.  He doesn't really like really gushy cards and so I am often left with a limited selection in the shops.

This year I have decided to look online instead and managed to find some really cute and funny handmade cards.  Here are just some of my favourites I found:

If you want to look at others, just head to Etsy where they have many different types of Valentines Day cards.  Remember to check where the card is coming from though as many are made in the USA, so you may want to check the card will arrive in time before you order!

What are you doing this Valentines Day? Which is your favourite card? I think mine are 2,5 and 6 - he is definitely a massive bed hog!

Lots of love,
