Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Coral Reef

20 Jun 2014

Hello Lovelies! Today we are finally moving into our new home (!!!) and therefore my posts are going to be a bit sporadic over the next few weeks as we will be without internet for a few weeks :( I will try my best though! So anyway, whilst in New York I purchased the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail polish in Coral Reef. I was in Rite Aid looking at all the make up goodies and came across the Hard As Nails range for just $3 - I just couldn't say no!

After much deliberation I decided on Coral Reef. The name is a little deceiving as it is definitely more pink than coral, however it is still such a gorgeous colour that is perfect for summer. I'm all about bright colours in the summer months and this will go perfectly with a tan. It applies nicely and is opaque after two applications. NYC Beauty Haul

13 Jun 2014

I just got back from a lovely weeks holiday in New York City with my mum, and we had so much fun. If you haven't been to New York before you HAVE to go! I miss it already! It is such an amazing city for shopping, you can't go there and not spend, however as I said in a previous post, my boyfriend and I have just bought our own flat in London so I was under strict instructions from the boyfriend not to go too mad. Bearing that in mind I made a list of the things I wanted to buy out there and I am very happy with what I picked up :)

It certainly wasn't easy restraining myself in Sephora and the all the drug stores, but I reminded my self that the majority of the products you can get in the UK so I can always get them back home. I did go a little crazy buying clothes however, there are just too many bargains in Macy's and Century 21!

What is your favourite shop to go to in New York City? I fell in love with Duane Reade and Bath & Body Works!

Nokia Lumia 1020 : The bloggers phone?

10 Jun 2014

Hi girls, firstly sorry I haven’t posted in a while I got back from New York last week and have been feeling pretty ill since :( I am beginning to feel a little better and finally have some energy to write some posts, so here we are!

As a blogger my mobile phone is in constant use, whether it be to check my e-mails, draft a blog post or most importantly take photos.  For as long as I can remember I have used my iPhone, which for the most of it did the job. However, there is a new contender on the block which will fulfil those needs and more! The Nokia Lumia 1020* is more than just a mobile phone, it is a camera that has similar capabilities to that of a DSLR - I am officially amazed.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 has a 4.5" screen and is made from scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. It is powered by Windows 8, which is very intuitive and a nice change to your typical iPhone iOS. The home page is customizable; you can move icons, add or remove icons, change the size and colour of the icons – which I absolutely love. The Windows app store is less comprehensive than the Apple store, and unfortunately there are a few apps missing that I would like to use, however I have not found this to be too much of an issue. The ability to use Microsoft office on your phone is a real gem – no more using Apple notes to draft my blog posts. The design is very slick and aesthetically pleasing, with a matte casing that feels comfortable in your hand.

The camera has a whopping 41 megapixels, a Carl Zeiss lens and a Xenon and LED flash. It also has the manual controls of a DSLR, allowing you to adjust the white balance, exposure, ISO and more. Very impressive for just a phone, right? Even on auto settings I am amazed at the results this camera produces. There are some other great features, like The Creative Studio where you can edit images, Glam Me which enhances your photos, Perfect 365 where you can add make-up (and it doesn't look half bad!) and so much more. I have yet to try out the video capabilities however I have heard it is just as impressive.

You can also purchase a camera grip case* (£37.50), which is attached to the tripod above, that not only gives the phone more of a camera feel but it also acts as a charger for your phone.

Now, onto the photos. The following pictures were taken on my Nokia Lumia 1020 using auto settings (I am still learning how best to adjust settings), and I am very very impressed with how the photos came out - just look at that sky!

To see the real capability of this camera, visit the following Tumblrs which showcase some amazing photographs!

What do you think? Does anyone own a Nokia Lumia, if so, what do you think?
