My Invisalign Journey: Update - Tray 13 of 23

31 Mar 2016

It has been a while since I last posted about my Invisalign treatment, so here is a little update. Would you believe I am now on aligner 13 of 23 (week 27 of 48), so I am over half way! It is scary how fast the time is going, but it is also very exciting to see how much my teeth have moved already.

My teeth are looking so much straighter already and I am very pleased with how they are looking. I actually forgot how crowded my lower set of teeth were, so it's nice to see that a lot has changed. If all goes to plan I should be complete by Mid August, however sometimes there are some refinements that are needed.

I am very much in a routine now, I clean my teeth after every meal otherwise my teeth feel dirty, I rarely snack and I have a much better oral hygiene routine. I have moved over to an electric toothbrush, I floss and use mouthwash every evening and I attend a hygienist every few months. This is considerably better than my routine before Invisalign.

If you have any questions on Invisalign please do ask as I shall be putting together a Q and A for another post.

8 ways to use Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil

27 Mar 2016

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil

I love a good multi-functional product, particulary when it comes to travelling and you can save some space in your suitcase. The new Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil*, inspired by the eight hour cream, is infused with tsubaki oil, grape-seed oil, omegas 6 & 9 and ginger root extract, making it ultra hydrating, soothing and toning. It has a spray top which makes it super easy to apply and it sinks into the skin nice and quickly. Here are 8 different ways you can use this oil.

All-Over Moisturiser - It is especially great applied after a bath or shower as it will lock in any moisture keeping your skin super soft and smooth.

Facial Glow - After cleansing, spritz one pump into the palm of your hands and gently apply to your face. Apply more for a facial and massage into the skin to get the blood pumping. This will help to repair your skin, leaving it with a nice glow.

Brighten dull hair - Add to the ends of either dry or wet hair to help to condition and restore shine, preventing your hair from drying out.

Rough Skin - Apply to elbows, knees, anywhere that is particularly dry and it will help to soften and nourish the skin.

Post Shaving - After shaving, it will help calm down any irritated skin, leaving your skin silky smooth.

Massage Oil - The grapeseed oil and vitamin E makes this a lovely massage oil - great on the back and shoulders.

Cuticles - Use morning and night on your cuticles to help soften them up.

Stress Buster - Lastly, this oil is a great stress buster. Spray the oil into your hands, rub together and then take a deep breath, smell the beautiful fragrance and rellaaaaxxxx.

The White Company Wild Mint Candle

24 Mar 2016

The White Company Wild Mint Candle

The Wild Mint, Peppermint & White Tea candle has been a bloggers favourite for many years now, so I don't know why it has taken me so long to buy this candle. Sometimes I ignore hyped up products, but after smelling this candle I knew I had to buy it. At £28 it is a bit of a splurge, especially when it is one of the smaller candles I own, however I managed to find a 20% code and paid £22.40 instead.

You may think that mint is a rather odd scent for a candle, but it is a lovely addition to what could be a rather green blend. Think fresh mint with a twist, not stong mint toothpaste. It easily fills the room with its refreshing scent, that is pleasing for both male and females, and is very pleasant to burn any where in the home.

The Wild Mint candle is available from The White Company for £28.00.

A primer for dehydrated skin : Dermalogica Hydrablur

22 Mar 2016

Everyday I use a primer without fail, otherwise my makeup seems to just sink into my skin. I therefore am always on the hunt for the next best primer. Last month Dermalogica released a new primer called Hydrablur* which focuses on optimising skin health as well as preparing the skin for make-up. Could this be a contender? Hydrablur offers intense moisturisation, pore-refining and mattifying properties and helps to create a silky, smooth finish. Sounds perfect to me!

Its creamy lightweight consistency glides onto the skin, creating a nice smooth. My pores are certainly more blurred, and my skin more matt, but the biggest difference I have noticed is how much more hydrated my skin feels. My skin is generally quite dry and dehydrated, yet using this primer I find my skin is not drying out so much and therefore my makeup is lasting all day, with only small top ups required.

The only downside to this product is the price. At £38 for just 22ml, this is not a cheap primer. Having said that, it is certainly worth the price, especially if you suffer from dry skin and are on the hunt for a hydrating primer.

Hydrablur is available from Selfridges for £38.

Body Confidence: Getting Bikini Ready in just 8 Weeks

20 Mar 2016

I recently tried on a bikini for the first time in a while and although I am generally quite happy with my body, I am not as body confident as I used to be. The areas that I am particularly unhappy with are my bum and thighs and because I am off to Santorini in few months, now is my time to get bikini ready in just 8 weeks. I am not looking to lose weight, more just to tone up and to feel more confident in myself.

My biggest struggle is motivation. Most of the time I work out, I have no real agenda, I just work out to be healthy. I therefore feel I need more structure in my gym routine, targeting the areas that I want to work on and planning what I want to do each day. To keep me going, I also need an end target.

So in terms of structure, I am going to continue swimming and attending workout classes as I have been, but for those days I don't (or if I am feeling particularly energetic, on those days I do go to the gym) I will be following the monthly workout calendars from Blogilates. This will increase my exercise schedule to working out 6, sometimes 7, days a week from my current attempt of just 2. The most I have ever done is 4 times a week, so it makes me nervous making this commitment, but I am determined to feel more body confident this summer!

Alongside this I will also be taking part in the 30 Day Butt List Challenge to help tone the area I am most unhappy about (the booty). As this is only 30 days, I may choose to continue for the full 8 weeks, or I may move on to the thigh slimming challenge (the other area I am unhappy about). My end aim is to tone up and therefore lose some inches, therefore here are my measurements as of today.

Bust: 28"
Waist: 26"
Hips: 38"
Bum: 39"
Arms: 10.5"
Thighs: 22.5"
Calves: 14.75"

I have never really committed to anything like this before so if you have any motivation tips please do share. I am hoping that by putting this out there and posting an update every few weeks, it will keep me going.

How do you keep motivated?

Ted Baker Sweet Treats Perfume - Grace and Olivia

17 Mar 2016

Last month Ted Baker launched two new perfumes in their Sweet Treats collection, Grace* and Olivia*. I am a big fan of mini perfumes, they are the perfect travel accessory, and they are great to have in your handbag for when you need a top up. I love my travelo but its nice to have something that is a little more appealing on the eye.

As far as mini perfumes go, these are some of the prettiest bottles I have seen. The pastel glass bottles uniquely identify the fragrance, and the jewelled lid tops off the beautiful design. The design is of high quality and the rose gold detailing is a nice touch.

Of the two, my favourite is definitely Olivia. Olivia is a zesty scent, with a jasmine and iris heart, finished with an elegant blend of vetiver, powdery musk and cedarwood. It is not too sweet and leaves a lovely scent once settled.  Grace, on the other hand, is a feminine, floral scent. It has a warm heart of rose, jasmine and muguet, finished with musky vanilla.

These perfumes are available now from selected Ted Baker, Boots and Superdrug stores for £15 for 10ml.

Tirita Marble Wood Phone Case

13 Mar 2016

My go to place for a new phone case is almost always E-Bay, I frequently change my case and so I am not looking to spend a large amount of money. With cases starting at £0.99, there is a huge range of cases available, so much so you could spend hours looking for the perfect phone case.

I recently came across the Tirita range, which contains stylish yet affordable phone cases, all of which I absolutely love. There are many beautiful marble designs, including some more unusual wood designs and fun flower designs. After much deliberation I finally chose a marble wood texture case (No.1) for just £4.99. I was very pleased with the quality of the case, it feels much more expensive than it is and is very different to anything else I have seen.

My only disappointment was that it does scratch quite easily, despite its claim that it is 100% scratch proof (is that even possible?). However, it is only noticeable in certain lights and as you can see in the photo, it really is not obvious.

If you are not into E-bay you can also buy from the Tirita website for £7.99 per case.

What is your favourite phone case?
